The Decatur Zombie 5K is back!
Friends of the Decatur Public Library is hosting the second annual Zombie 5k run/walk in Fairview Park. All ages are welcome and the registration fee of $20.00 will cover shirt, dog tag, and admission to the post race party. There will be free items to hand out that day as well as people to teach some of the hottest new games on the market. Millikin area student Housing Year 2014-2015

My company, Quality Home Locator, has been renting houses to Millikin students for over 7 years. Back in 2011, I wrote a guide to off-campus housing based on my experiences with helping other students as well as attending college myself. We are soon approaching the break between Fall 2013 and Spring 2014, which is normally when students start to look at housing for the next school year. Thanksgiving break will be upon us before we know it and having a house picked out before you leave during break greatly increases the chances of finding something that fits your needs or wants. It is very common that during this short period of time, Quality Home Locator will have a large portion of it’s properties leased out. Please contact us as soon as possible if you think you are interested in leasing a property next year.

If you have any questions you can contact my office at 217.864.6485. You can contact me directly via this website as well. Someone always monitors the company website and Facebook page if those forms of communication are easier for you.

Wilhoit Accounting opens new tax office in Mt Zion, IL

Mike Wilhoit is a local accountant serving the Decatur, Forsyth, and Mt Zion area. He has moved his office to a new location on the south side of 121 in Mt Zion. A family man of over 18 years, Michael has been a valuable asset to the community. I have known him for several years now on both a personal and business level. I can honestly say it has been a pleasure to be his friend and the level of service I get from him regarding my accounting is stellar. I’m sure someone you know has had Michael handle their taxes so don’t take my word for it, ask them. Ever since Michael began working with Bradshaw Consulting, Inc. and Quality Home Locator I have been able to focus more on my business and not my accounting. He even saved me some money on my tax return last year!

Wilhoit Accounting and Tax Service‘s new location is 322 North State Highway 121. His phone number has also been updated to 1.217.864.1850 with a fax number of 217.864.1849. Don’t let the North 121 fool you, it is really far south on 121 near the Firehouse. If you are traveling south on 121 the road will start to curve to the left after Filippo’s Pizza. The building is across the street from Mt Zion Auto Service which is a new auto service shop.

Elect Chris Harrison & Chris Riley for Decatur Park Board on April 9th, 2013

Last week I wrote a blog about CIPAC endorsing a friend of mine Chris Harrison which also included Chris Riley.   Below you will find a commercial that was released this week with Chris Riley, currently seeking his 3rd term on the Decatur Park Board, and Chris Harrison. Next Tuesday on April 9th is the election for Macon County which will chart the course of our community. In order for our election process to work it is important that everyone gets out and votes. Quality Home Locator rents homes in Decatur, IL and I feel our parks are a great asset to the community.

Hardware and software upgrade at Bradshaw Consulting, Inc.

Bradshaw Consulting, Inc. and Hostexa have announced last month that February was chosen for a month of system wide upgrades.  Bradshaw Consulting has been working on an upgrade to its Billing system and Hostexa has performed hardware upgrades on the majority of its machines.  I’m very proud of my entire staff as these upgrades were perform with little to no interruption in services.  It seems the biggest issue affecting the customers related to passwords.  Security measures on the machines were enhanced and this left some user accounts unable to login until a password reset was performed.
